Simpson latest

Making our Valentines cookies.
Wearing the skirt G-ma Simpson made.
Myla 8 months also wearing a G-ma Simpson creation

Famous family Picture. My dad did it with us and Devin's did it with them.

Myla had her latest check up this last week. She is weighing in about 15 pounds 13 ounces. She is going to be a little peanut. Nola weighed 17 pounds at her 6 month check up. Crazy how tiny she is. She is not crawling yet, but she rolls to everything and anything she wants. She cut her bottom two teeth on Saturday. So we are getting through that. She has been extra sleepy, but other then that she has been a trouper. I find out what I am having boy or girl next week and we are excited to find out. Devin has been busy with the clinic and managing Young men and Scouts. I am so excited for Spring which unfortunately doesn't not come to these parts until June. SIGH! Nola is busy being a two year old and keeps me busy demanding my attention at all hours of the day. She is getting so big and smart. I love having little conversations with her. She is such a good big sister if you don't count all the times she sits on, takes things away from and yells at Myla to "stop crying"! What are big sisters for right?!

Respond to previous post.

Obviously I have had mixed emotions about all of this. My baby is only six months old. I was just starting to get into a healthy mind to get the previous baby weights off my bones, but every time I start to get overwhelmed that ever so comforting feeling comes saying "I don't give you more than you can handle". I am due August 18th. Myla and baby # 3 will be 13 months apart. SIGH. So far we are sick, tired and baby is doing great. Thanks friends for the congrats. I am going to need many more encouraging words over the next several months.

Ready or not here I come!

Christmas 2011

Hats

Nola got this cute hat for Christmas.
This is dad's hat she likes to put on.

Playing in the snow

Hanging out with Nola and Myla

Sitting up in the bouncy chair is the only time I can get her to practice the little stink.
Oh well whatever it takes.
Dad put Nola in charge of doing her own hair the other day. So she chose to put three bows in.
I had to let her run errands this way.

Visitors

In late November we saw quit a few of these guys looking for girlfriends.
It is so fun to see so much of nature in our backyard.

As I was rocking Myla to sleep this morning I couldn't help but start to picture a Young Mother in Bethlehem several thousands of years ago rocking to sleep her new born son. I couldn't help but reflect upon her mission. To raise a perfect being. A being who would save us all from ourselves and the temptations that are ours to overcome. I saw her in my mind scold him and then retract as she remembered what her mission was. How many times she must have felt imperfect even more so than I do.What thoughts must have been placed in her heart to try to distract her from what she needed to do. I am grateful for her and I love her. I hope some day to be worthy to meet and talk with such a women. The mother of my Savior.

My Thanksgiving

What I am thankful for. My Heavenly Father. I am grateful for how he whispers my potential in my heart and head and reminds me that mother hood is a wonderful gift and to not sweat the small stuff. I love how he helps me be the best mom I can be by prompting me to not push too hard or to push a little harder. My Dev. I am very thankful to have a husband who is not perfect and allows me to not be perfect either. I am thankful for the hard working man that he is. I love watching him be a daddy. I think my love for him has grown in all new ways since the girls came into our family. I love curling up in his arms. I am thankful for our eternal marriage and knowing I am his and he is mine forever. My girls. Mother hood for me has brought on so many more feelings of in adequacy. I know these feelings do not come from a heavenly place which only motivates me further to raise my girls to be beautiful inside and out and to prepare them for there roles as mommy's someday. I love hearing Nola's thoughts. She makes me laugh right out loud at least 20 times a day. Myla is starting to show her personality and doesn't let us forget she is the room as she squeals at us if we don't include her. My Searle's. I have benefited so much from being closer to my family. I am grateful for time spent far away , but I am still so glad they are only a few short hours away anytime I need them. My Simpson's. I am grateful to have married into a family that is so similar to mine in ways of love and support. I am grateful to have a husband working and an roof over my head. A roof that we own. I still pinch myself and say this house is mine. I cannot wait to have our first Christmas in our home. I am grateful to my friends. I have said this before but you have also molded me to be the best wife, mommy, sister, daughter and friend that I can be. Thanks for calling when you do. Sometimes it is the light I need on stressful days.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU ALL. I love you .

Thoughts

I have had so much on my mind lately that I feel like my blog is a great place to unload some of it. I find myself being afraid to talk about my struggles. Afraid to appear weak. Afraid to appear like I can't handle the things that are mine to handle like potty training and sick kids up all night coughing. Why you ask am I afraid? Well to act like you are not afraid would just be proving my next point. I was watching a reality TV show against my better judgement the other day really to just have some background noise and I found myself getting so disturbed at these catty women who talk nice to each others faces and then go behind each others backs to exploit the struggles of the other women as if they themselves had perfect lives. Well here is the reality that they need in their TV show. WE ALL HAVE CRAPPY MOMENTS. We all get knocked on our knees. We all have heart aches and trials. Why as women do we not love each other more and ourselves for Pete sakes? If we know how it feels to feel in secure about our appearance or our talents or our marriages or whatever it may be why do not empathize more instead of criticize? I find myself trying to hide my struggles instead of letting them air out in the wind because of the way I myself have criticized and heard criticism from other women. I am thankful that I watched that dumb show which I will never waste my time watching again because I have turned over a new leaf. I am vowing to be less critical of you and myself. I hope that as a woman I can look at someone else who bugs me, get's under my skin, doesn't' do things they way I like or the way I think it should get done, or has hurt me, and think you have struggles as well. There is something that troubles you. Maybe not today, but it may come up tomorrow. I hope that I can teach my two girls that true beauty is what we place in our hearts and allow to make a home there. True beauty is what we let slip of our tongues to other people. True beauty is letting other people have weaknesses and not talking about them as if you have none. True beauty is owning up to our own weaknesses and not be afraid of what others may say. Thanks for letting me vent a little. Man that stupid show got me all sorts of worked up.
